5 Tips For Preventing Acne

Anxious to be pimple-free for good? You will soon discover that most of the products and methods out there simply waste your money and time.

You see, acne prevention is not all parlor tricks and doctors' visits. Most people assume if they just plod on with whatever it is they are doing for preventing acne, their faces will clear and their zits will disappear. This could work, and it almost makes sense to believe that it would - but not completely. I will discuss this idea in a second. For now, let's start with the fact that for the most part, common sense is all you need to stop future breakouts.

Believe it or not, you can prevent future breakouts through self-care measures that are quite easy to do.

1. Wash skin using a gentle cleanser.

2. Do not touch your zits or pick on them.

3. Wash acne-prone skin twice a day. If you stick to this frequency, you will be able to remove dead skin cells and excess oil without irritating the skin.

4. Dry oily skin by using over-the-counter acne gels or creams. Look for salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide in the label.

5. Remove your makeup before going to sleep. Cosmetics on skin can clog the tiny openings of your pores. Aside from potentially causing you zits, this buildup can also give rise to blackheads and whiteheads.

Earlier, I mentioned that most people simply plod on with their methods and figure the more they try, the better their chances of preventing breakouts. The reason this only makes partial sense is that, unless you have already figured out the right way to be pimple-free, you are preventing acne the wrong way and that is the only thing you will get better at. You will end up becoming better at doing the wrong things right!
