Acne Scar Removal Options

So, are you looking for acne scar removal solutions in Texas? Don't be worried, you can find different options that will help you correct and get rid of bad looking scars in your face. Nowadays are great treatments proven to work, like laser resurfacing, chemical peels, collagen injections, silicone treatment and dermabrasion.

You may want to start looking for a hospital that offers these procedures or a specialized skin clinic. On the Web you can do a localized search for services in your area. Like for example the Texas Medical Center, and other centers. While you look at your options, it is always a good idea to read more about the treatments, their pros and cons and of course the cost. You may need to discuss these points in detail with your doctor, as they depend heavily on the severity of your acne scars.

One of the preferred methods for getting rid of acne marks is laser resurfacing, specially the use of CO2 and CoolTouch. The last one is a brand of YAG laser, and many skin clinics or centers refer to his name as their laser treatment. Using laser, the top layers of the skin are burnt, so then the body grows naturally a new set of layers that grow healthy and looking much better.

Surgery is also helpful and involves different kinds of procedures. After you've found an option in your area, you need to trust the treatment (by means of good information) and then follow along. Rest assured that you can greatly improve the look of your skin!

Removing Acne Scars With the Derma Roller

Getting rid of acne scars has always been a challenge as they can be very detrimental to a person's self esteem. While there have been hundreds of suggestions for removing acne scars -- not all methods have been successful for everyone. It could be due to the fact that everyone is different and different treatments work on some, but not on others. Unfortunately, you really have to try and find what works best for you.

There has been some very successful feedback in connection with using the derma roller in getting rid of acne scars. Research shows that the roller is effective for the most common types of acne scars. In fact, studies suggests that just one session can help to increases collagen by 1000%!!

What is The Derma Roller?

I is an incredible skin roller or skin needling device that helps to stimulate collagen and elastin without causing damage to the skin. Unlike other methods for skin rejuvenation methods which causes extensive damage to the skin in order to stimulate collagen production the derma roller is safe and doesn't require any downtime.

How Does it work on Acne Scars?

Acne scars - like fine lines, wrinkles, and stretch marks all have one thing in common.......not enough collage. By using a derma roller you help to encourage your own collagen production which helps to break up the scar tissue and fill it in with newly formed collagen.

When the derma roller is rolled over the skin, it creates small punctures into the skin. This very slight damage causes the body to react by trying to heal the skin. It does this by initiating collagen production and elastin. Although this method of collage production is slower than dermabrasion, chemical or laser peels, it's much safer, has fewer risks, and requires no downtime.

Regular derma roller sessions help to encourage an on-going healing process and eventually a reduction of the acne scar. The healing process can take months, but for some people noticeable results are seen within 7-10 days after the first treatment.

Laser Treatment For Acne Scars - A Last Resort?

If you are looking for a way to get rid of your ugly acne scars, then chances are you have heard of laser treatment for acne scars before. However, you may not necessarily know enough to determine if it is the right thing for you to do. Take a look at some key points about laser treatment for acne so you can make an informed decision.

How it Works

Basically, a dermatologist will use some kind of anesthetic cream to numb the area with the acne scars so you feel no pain during the treatment. A smooth laser beam is then used to remove the top layer of your skin where the scarring from acne occurred.

The job is usually done in one session that lasts between 15 and 20 minutes.

What Does it Cost?

Depending on the type of treatment you go for, laser treatment for acne scars can cost anywhere between $300 and $3000. Some dermatologists use more advanced equipment that can do the job quicker and more effectively, hence charging more money for the acne scar laser treatment.

What Happens After the Treatment is Over?

Once your laser treatment session is over, you will have to go through a period of healing that lasts between 2 to 3 weeks. However, the good thing about this period is that there is little pain experienced -- based on reports from people who actually did the procedure.

In most cases, there are no reported side effects. Then again, there are a few people who have reported swelling and crusting of the skin, as well as obvious discoloration. In such cases, it is possible that the procedure was not done correctly OR that the side effects were mild and eventually faded over time.

Laser treatment for acne scars is a quick and effective way of getting rid of unsightly scars left by this awful skin condition known as acne. If you are financially able, it is definitely one of the best ways to get rid of these unsightly blemishes from your face.

Appropriate Actions For Removing Unwanted Hair

I heard about the services a beauty center offers and have read in Daily Breeze that a center near my home has been voted as the best dermatologist in South Bay therefore I decided to visit the center to see if they have some satisfactory solutions to my skin problems. I have discussed my skin issues with experts at the center and they have come up with just the perfect solution. I have acne scars on my face and I was suffering from broken blood vessels. Other than these I wanted to get rid of my unwanted hair and tattoos.

I was a bit worried about acne scar treatment because it doesn't have a one-size-fits-all solution rather the treatment should vary according to the skin type. A relatively light scar can be treated with chemical peels whereas a deep scar may need a collagen or Restylane treatment. My scar was of a medium nature thus the experts suggested a laser resurfacing and the results were just superb.

The second issue was vascular lesions which were treated using HGM cosmetic laser. The doctors suggested me a complete pre-treatment care to make the treatment as easy and painless as possible. The results were amazing and the recovery was soon.

I have undergone a laser treatment for permanent hair removal from arms and legs and now I am happy that I don't need to go for the painful waxing after every 3 weeks. I was expecting a clean and smooth skin after the treatment and get the desired results as well. The treatment was provided in a hygienic environment with caring staff to support me with every facility.

What Can A Proactive Acne Treatment Do For Me?

When you are having to tackle the problem of acne breakouts on your skin you can give it a thorough clean by using a proactive acne treatment in order to control and treat the problem. A proactive acne treatment is a combination of therapies that studies all the aspects of the problems relating to acne as well as searching out a viable solution.

The first step one should take where proactive treatment is concerned relies on the premise that the skin blemish is healed before any further steps can be taken to stop the reappearance of acne. The starting point of healing your skin with a proactive treatment is to examine the ways in which you clean you skin using an effective skin cleanser.

The best type of skin cleanser to use is one that exfoliates the skin and exposes the dead skin cells. Then you can treat the exfoliated skin with benzoyl peroxide which will kill the bacteria that causes the acne to appear on your skin. The benzoyl peroxide will also penetrate the skin pores as the skin has been exfoliated enough through the use of the cleanser. By doing this you are not only healing the spots already there but attacking the bacteria that causes them. This is providing you with not only a cure for your acne but a preventative measure as well.

Now you have this problem in hand, the next stage of the 3 way active approach to controlling acne is to choose a good skin toner. When looking for the right sort of product you should look for one that is alcohol free and water based. This type of toner will help to remove dead skin cells and unplug your clogged pores. This helps your skin to remain healthy and free from acne. A good skin toner will also help to remove excess oil that forms on skin pores which are prone to acne. Used on a regular basis this will help balance your skin's tone and maintain it. This keeps your skin acne free as well as the oil balance remaining even, which means no more clogged pores.

The final stage of this 3 way process is to use a repairing lotion which should be applied regularly to your skin. This will help your skin back to its original healthy state as well as helping you in the process of recovery. By the time you have reached this stage your skin should be acne free. It is important that you use an oil free repairing lotion that will heal all the blackheads and whiteheads that have appeared. A repairing lotion will make your skin glow and those acne spots will be a thing of the past.

So by using this form of proactive acne treatment you should be able to make your acne a thing of the past and have beautiful healthy looking skin from now on.

It's almost a nightmare to have scars that clog up your face and literally destroy your self-image. Any infected person dreads acne. It's tolerable enough to have acne in your teenage life, but to let the acne scars to remain on your face is an absolute torture. But well, there's no need to worry as a number of scar treatments are available out there for your help. You just have to choose the best. Your doctor can certainly advise you the best treatments containing all the necessary ingredients out there. These treatments have the power to give you a healing reaction on the prominent blemishes and scars that the acne leaves behind them.

You must have heard about a lot of people raving about the biological scar treatment. But what is it all about? The biological acne scar treatment comprises of the deep level saturation of your skin and by enhancing the cellular turnover. With the action of a particular enzyme a biochemical process is initiated, by the end of which skin repair and recovery is achieved. With this treatment, scars disappear only gradually with time as collagen and elastin are secreted in a stimulated manner as they form the frame of the skin.

Another acne scar treatment that is worth mentioning is Dermabrasion, which is a combination of medical and cosmetic procedure. Dermabrasion removes damaged skin through the process of sanding. Since sanding is quite a painful process to go through for any patient, this treatment is usually carried on under general or twilight anesthesia. The down side of this treatment is that after the treatment the skin looks a little raw for over a few weeks. But after that, the skin is re-grown in a beautiful and flawless manner.

A little more intense scar treatment is Microdermabrasion. It is normally used for less intense scar treatments. This acne scar treatment is also referred to as skin remodeling and it is also largely used for other skin problems as well apart from acne and scar treatments. The number of sessions that this treatment demands depends totally on the kind and intensity of scars that are present on the skin, and also on how old the scars are. Also, another wonderful thing about this acne scar treatment is that it has no age bar, in the sense that adolescents as well as adults can undergo this treatment.

However, the most complex acne scar treatment among all acne scar treatments is the one that relies on laser technology. This technology used by the treatment stimulates the re-growth of tissues and rebuilds your skin once again.

No matter what kind of treatment is used to eliminate your acne scars once and forever, you can be assured that your problem will be solved completely and your self-confidence and self-image will certainly return back to its greatest extent.

Acne - Effective Treatments & Scar Removal

Anyone who has battled with acne, knows that it is not an easy battle - suffering from acne is not a fun experience. And there exists a multiplicity of acne treatments and medications both prescribed and 'over the counter' with costs ranging up to $2000.

Americans spend over $ 1.4 billion every year on acne treatment.

There are however, a lot of natural acne treatments that can be used to control acne breakouts quite effectively.

For example:

Green Tea Green tea has proved to be anti-bacterial that reduces inflammation, decreases hormone activity, capable of killing the potentially deadly Staphylococcus Aureus and the bacteria that cause Bacterium acne.

Zinc is another popular remedy for acne. A couple of research studies have found that zinc is somewhat effective.

High-protein foods contain high amounts of zinc. Beef, pork, and lamb contain more zinc than fish. The dark meat of a chicken has more zinc than the light meat.

For the removal of acne scars apply lemon juice to the affected area and allow it to dry. This may burn a bit for a little while because the lemon juice is working as a chemical peel ro get rid of old acne scars.

Please remember that a good balanced diet (without excess amounts of oily foods) and lots of water is among the best defenses against acne that is available to you.

I must say I have had tremendous results using a break-through acne treatment system called "Acne Free In 3 Days". Chris Gibson's system is the ultimate in natural and effective acne treatment.

Alternative Laser Acne Treatment

Are you suffering from acne breakouts? Have you tried each and every acne medicine to no avail? If you answered yes to these two questions, then this article is for you. It is normal for people to suffer from acne breakouts especially during adolescence.

However, acne are not only affecting teenagers. In fact, adults also suffer acne breakouts. There are many available topical and oral medicines for acne. But, if you are suffering from recurring and severe acne breakouts, chances are these medicines will not work for you. There is, however, one way to put an end to these acne breakouts, and that is through laser acne treatment.

Laser acne treatment is a procedure that reduces acne breakouts and improves skin condition by utilizing the power of laser technology. Even if this type of treatment is costly, people choose this because it is proven effective and the results are long-term. A dermatologist starts a laser treatment for acne by applying local anesthesia and desensitizing cream. After this, the actual treatment of using laser to kill bacteria and lessen oil secretion is performed. Treatment duration depends on the severity of the infected areas. Mild cases may only take 30 minutes while more severe ones can take up more than an hour. Redness and inflammation may occur after the procedure is performed, but these would disappear after a few hours. It is recommended to use sunblock and avoid direct exposure to the sun for three months after treatment.

There are many types of laser acne treatment methods available and some of the most popular include Smoothbeam, N-Lite and Fraxel. Smoothbeam and Fraxel are said to be effective but costly. N-Lite is also said to be pricey but not as effective as the first two. Please remember that these treatments may have different effects on different people, so do not just base your decisions on the opinions of others. The best way is to discuss your situation with your dermatologist, and he/she will surely come up with the best treatment regimen for you.

Aside from acne prevention and cure, laser is also used to remove acne scars. Laser scar removal methods involve using laser to reduce the redness and marks left by acne. Like laser acne treatment methods, scar removal by laser is less painful, more effective and takes a shorter time to heal.

Whatever treatments you wish to undergo, just make sure you have the go signal of your dermatologist and have researched on the procedure properly. Good luck! Search for hubpages.com/hub/Laser-Acne-Treatment-Center laser acne treatment on the web for more information.

Acne Scar Treatment Options For You

Acne scarring is an acute problem especially for those who have experienced ugly flare ups of acne in the past. Nearly 80% of all people are affected by acne when they are in their teens and twenties. Though many are left unscathed by acne attacks, some may have life-long scars which can be a constant source of embarrassment. There are many treatment options for treating acne scars ranging from topical skin creams to surgical intervention. Of course the importance of preventive measures can not be undermined especially if you want to avoid a life-long problem.

Preventions is the best way to avoid any future problem with acne. To prevent acne breakouts, it is important to know what causes acne in the first place. One of the easiest ways to prevent acne is to wash your face daily with a mild antibacterial soap and avoid using heavy lotions and creams in areas which are prone to acne.

To hit the right treatment option for acne scars you must know the different classifications of acne scars. You will then know which treatment will suit which type of scars. For instance the ice pick acne scars are sharp and narrow where the skin appears to have been sliced or punctured. Acne scar resurfacing options can not work with such deep scars. Boxcar acne scars on the other hand are round or oval in shape and if they have not penetrated too deeply they can respond to some treatments. Conventional acne scar treatments can not work on rolling scars which are spots just beneath the surface of the skin. These need breaking up the fibrous tissue under the skin.

While there are plenty of acne scar treatment methods , more often, these methods are combined to get the desired results. Dermal fillers is a treatment option where some substances are injected into the scar areas to give the skin a smoother and even look. Fat, bovine and human collagen are some of the substances used in dermal fillers which can not offer a permanent solution and have to be repeated to maintain the results obtained. Deeper acne scars like ice pick and boxcar scars, are usually treated with punch excision. This is a method where the entire scar area is removed and the skin round it is sutured. This method also leaves a scar, which is less noticeable.

Punch excision is used for skin grafting as well. Here in place of suturing the skin together a skin graft is used. Skin from behind the ear is usually the chosen skin. If the color and texture of skin grafting is noticeable after the procedure is complete, it can be rectified using skin resurfacing. Punch elevation is the procedure used for deep boxcar acne scars. Here the scar is removed using a particular tool and then elevating the skin to the level of the normal skin layer and then suturing the skin together. Here there is less risk of color and texture mismatching. It also reduces the visible scars left from punch incision. The method used for breaking the fibrous bands caused under the skin by rolling scars is subcutaneous incision. One of the most popular choices for any skin conditioning or repairing is laser resurfacing. It works by burning the top layer of the skin which is replaced soon by new and healthy skin as it heals with time.

Though there are plenty of ways for treating acne scars prevention is the best way to avoid this problem of scar removal. In case you feel that you need treatment for your acne scars, you must first consult your physician, who will refer you to a dermatologist who will help you with your acne scar treatment. While you are going to choose the best method for your acne scar treatment you must also pay equal attention to its efficacy and the cost involved. Sometimes you might have to choose a combination of therapies like combining punch elevation with laser resurfacing.

These complementary methods could result in minimal scarring caused by surgical intervention. It is important to get professional advice from doctors who are adequately qualified with the right credential. Also important to note is that there are plenty of over the counter products which promise complete acne scar removal. Though these may reduce the ugliness of the scars temporarily, your doctor is the best judge to offer remedial actions when it comes to a permanent solution.

There are a lot of experimentation and trials with different medications out there now and many different products that will help clear up any strain.

When dealing with acne its always best to see a doctor that specializes in dermatology. These doctors usually have had plenty of professional experience with the many types of acne. They can also tell you the don't do's of acne.

The number one no no is to not try and self-treat or self-medicate yourself you may end up irritating your skin. Don't scrub your skin where it is affected by acne, as this only irritates and inflames your acne making the healing process take longer to heal.

The doctors also say do not try and remove pimples on your own. One of the first things a doctor will prescribe is a topical cream to help heal your acne, but is not to cure your acne. Creams are one of the treatments to help manage the symptoms of acne.

There are treatments for all symptoms. If you have clogged pores(bacteria) the doctor may prescribe Antibiotics. If you have an overabundance of oils or need hormone to stimulate your glands then oral contraceptives may be in order.

The most important thing to remember when trying to eliminate your acne is to work with a trained medical professional that you trust.

Even when your doctor recommends a treatment doesn't mean that your acne will clear up immediately. You may need to try several different treatments before finding success. Usually treatments demand continual use for at least four to six weeks before expecting results.

The Miracles of Laser Treatment For Acne

Acne is a serious and very common skin condition, one that most people experience at least some points during their adolescent years. In some cases it can also follow into adulthood and often even for the rest of their life.

Acne affects both men and women, but it is important to realize that there are several differences between the two. For instance, men are more likely than women to suffer from more severe and longer lasting forms of acne. Young women are more likely to have intermittent acne due to hormonal changes that happen because of their menstrual cycle and other hormone fluctuating times in their lives, such as during pregnancy.

Most people who suffer from occasional acne breakouts find relief from using common topical and internal medications. The most common cause of acne is a blockage in the follicles because of sebum produced by the body. This blockage allows bacteria to grow under the skin and create acne. The most common product used to treat this condition is benzoyl peroxide. This product breaks up the blockage, opens the pore and thus eliminates the acne. However, in some severe cases laser treatment for acne may be required to break open the blocked follicle and kill the bacteria under the skin.

What is laser treatment for acne?

A laser treatment for acne allows your physician or dermatologist to have precise control in terms of treatment. It is done by using lasers to quickly remove the top layers of the skin from your face and then gently warm the next layer. This heat causes your skin to produce new amounts of collagen which make your skin look younger, healthier, and refreshed. Since it removes the top and damaged layers, it also reduces the appearance of acne blemishes and helps to alleviate old acne scars.

Laser treatment for acne is normally performed after you have been given a local anesthetic and many doctors also suggest patients a sedative to keep them calm during the procedure. It is an almost entirely pain-free procedure, one that is performed on an outpatient basis. It means that you do not have to be admitted into the hospital or stay overnight there. You only have to go in for the procedure, which typically takes about half an hour, and then you are free to go home straight away thereafter. The scars from your acne can be removed in a precise, bloodless, and simple fashion, and the treatment always achieves excellent results.

While laser treatment has been successful for many people in reducing acne problems, the doctor will have to plan the proper attack for each patient. There are essentially two areas in which the laser treatment can be used. Stopping the bacterial growth under the skin is the simplest method to prevent acne outbreaks and it is a common method for reducing the unwanted effects of an acne attack.

For more persistent acne, laser treatment can be used to shrink the sebaceous glands, reducing the amount of sebum be excreted, and thus removing one of common causes of acne. By reducing the size of the glands and reducing the amount of the oily sebum being produced, the chances of an acne outbreak are greatly reduced.

This laser treatment for acne technique is often combined with other acne treatment methods as well in order to get the very best results possible. You need to keep in mind that repeated procedures may be necessary, especially for people who are suffering from severe cases of acne.

The effectiveness of laser treatment for acne

Laser treatment for acne has many success stories. However, results usually are varied from one patient to another, and so if you know someone that has already gone in and had the procedure done, you can use their results as a starting point, although you have to remember that your results may not be the exact same. You may have better or worse results, depending on the severity of your acne problem and also on how the procedure is conducted.

You also want to ensure that you have a consult with your doctor before getting too serious about having something such as laser treatment procedure done, because although it is considered as being a very simple, minor procedure, it is still a procedure with risks. You need to take it seriously and be alert of the possible risks and complications that are involved so that you can be well prepared.

Risks of laser treatment for acne

Laser treatment for acne does have several risks. For instance, sometimes the laser can leave small scars. In this case, doctors have worked diligently to lessen the risk by using smaller lasers, but still occasionally small amounts of scarring can occur. Laser treatment for acne can also leave patchy and brown spots on your skin. Not many people who have laser treatment develop these spots, but the risk, though slight, is there.

After the treatment, your skin will generally be pink and a bit tender for a few days afterwards, especially if you have sensitive skin type. If you have herpes, you should discuss with your doctor before you have any laser treatment on your face. Exposure to the laser can cause a herpes infection to surface on your skin, so your doctor will usually battle this by prescribing a strong antibiotic before you undergo the procedure.

While not a risk, one also should consider the cost of laser treatment for acne. Even though it is an outpatient procedure, it can be quite costly. Moreover, insurance usually does not cover the procedures, so carefully weigh the risks and outcome before you decide if you can realistically budget the money for the treatment.

The Most Common Acne Scarring Treatments

There are different treatments for acne scars. The most common scar treatments are dermabrasion, laser resurfacing, chemical peels, punch techniques, subcision and augmentation. Each treatment is used for certain types of scars, so a thorough examination by a highly qualified and experienced dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon will help determine the procedure or combination of procedures that is right for you.

Dermabrasion

The oldest of all resurfacing methods, dermabrasion was largely eclipsed by the laser craze of the mid 1990s, as dermatologists by the droves did away with their old dermabrasion equipment to embrace the new technology.

This is a procedure in which a rapidly rotating, abrasive metal wheel is used to mechanically remove layers of skin. It takes a skilled touch to get the best results; unskilled technique can produce an unnaturally contoured skin surface as wavy as unevenly sanded wood.

Laser Resurfacing

A common method for acne scarring is laser resurfacing. It uses a laser beam to pass through a chamber filled with carbon dioxide gas, or with Erbium, the crystal through which the beam passes. Experts regard this treatment with the carbon dioxide laser as a high standard to resurface the skin.

Chemical Peels

These peels contain higher concentrations of salicylic acid (approximately 20-30 percent) than those found in consumer products (typically 0.5-2 percent). Peels are helpful for unclogging pores, clearing acne, and improving brown spots.

Punch Techniques

Another common means of removal is called punch excision, typically used for ice pick scars. The scar is punched out of the skin with a biopsy punch instrument that looks a little like an apple corer. This leaves a tiny cylindrical hole. Depending on its size and location, the cavity is then either closed with a small suture, or filled in with what is known as a punch graft, a plug of skin taken from behind the patient's ear.

Subcision

For large, nondistensible scars, some doctors use a method call subcision, inserting a beveled needle under the scar and moving it back and forth to cut the fibrous strands of collagen that are holding it down. This can be useful for some scars, but there are trade-off. You get a fair amount of bruising and discoloration with subcision, which can take a long time to heal.

Acne Skin Treatment Options That Really Work

Did you know that most people would, at some point in their lives, experience acne? Most of us get the worst of it during puberty and eventually outgrow it. However, there are people who don't and still continuously have breakouts even in adulthood. I understand how embarrassing this can be and acne seems to have the habit of showing up at the worst possible times. Remember that giant zit during prom night or during your first job interview? I'm sure you've heard of the myths about acne skin treatment options but none of them really work, do they? Well, don't frustrate yourself over ineffective treatments and try to find the ones that would actually make a difference. Here are some tips:

1. It is best that you get the treatment done before the acne gets worse and starts creating scars on your face. Whilst the acne itself is bad, having acne scars is a lot worse because they can be permanent and quite expensive to remove.

2. Never ever try and fix the problem yourself using various home remedies without consulting your dermatologist first. He or she would be able to assess the current condition of your skin and subsequently suggest the proper treatment for you. There are various prescription acne medicines that work wonders so you may want to try that as well. As for natural ones, you can ask your doctors about the best ones and what kind of remedies you could perform at home.

3. Change your diet. If you eat unhealthily then this could be causing the acne breakouts. You need to keep your body and skin hydrated all the time so that it would be able to get rid of the toxins that build up through sweat. Eating fruits and vegetables would also give you that nice and healthy glow. Remember, a healthy body equals healthy skin so start making changes in your daily meals and opt for healthier ones.

4. Of course proper hygiene is imperative if you wish to be rid of acne. Wash both your face and hands regularly. Refrain from touching your face with dirty hands because this would spread the bacteria to your face which could potentially cause infections and make you breakout. Remember to gently scrub your face because doing it roughly could cause lesions in your skin which could also lead to scarring.

5. Since stress is one of the many factors why people have acne breakouts, it is important for you to get the recommended 8 hours or more of sleep each and every day. This would give your body enough time to heal your skin. Whatever wear and tear it has suffered during the day, sleep would be able to heal that and give you well rested looking skin the next morning.

Your skin reflects your current health state. If you keep on having breakouts then you should also look into your diet and lifestyle as it could be these two factors that are causing the problem in the first place. Take care of your health and your skin should follow suit.

There are a number of different products in stores today claiming to help with acne scar removal. However, the best and cheapest way is to use effective, home remedies for treating acne scars.

Most of the time when people are searching for a product for acne scar removal they do not think of using common household items such as tomatoes or cucumber to help remove acne scars. But by using products such as these for acne scar removal, you will save yourself a lot of money and will improve the quality of your skin.

As you begin using home remedies for acne scar removal, take into consideration that it will be a slow process. The process can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months for the to remove your acne scars completely. You may need to try several acne scar removal options as well to see which one is the most beneficial for your particular skin type.

Tomatoes and Cucumbers

These two vegetables are an excellent choice to use for acne scar removal. Tomatoes are high in antioxidants, improve skin tone, and strengthen the immune system. Cucumbers help tighten up your pores. Many acne scar removal users have found applying a mixture of tomato juice and cumbers to your face effective.

First, you will need to make sure that your face is completely clean and dry. Next after pureeing the two ingredients in a blender, apply them to your face like a mask. You will leave this mask on for 20 to 30 minutes. Remove by washing with luke warm water and pat dry.

Tea Tree Oil and Neem Paste

Both of these ingredients are effective bacteria killers. Many people have found them to be effective as reducing acne scars as well as helping to fight off future acne. Mix the two items together (they can be found at health food stores) and apply directly to your scars.

Treating Acne Scars - The Super Effectiveness of Applying Hormonal Therapy and Laser Treatment

There are several types of acne, but one thing that is common about them all is the scarring. Be it acne rosacea, or chloracne, or acne vulgaris, or cystic or nodular acne, they all have the tendency to leave ugly scars behind that can make your face look hideous even though you are not suffering from the condition itself anymore.

You are about to learn about these scars, and to know what to do to deal with the scars once and for all.

One way to prevent scarring from acne due to treatment is to use hormonal therapy to cure the disease. Here, you want to reduce your androgenic hormone levels by taking an anti-testosterone medication known as Cyproterone, in combination with estrogen from perhaps Diane 35. The reason why this is so potent, especially in women, is that after the acnes are gone, there are less chances of scarring than most other methods because it provides some bleaching of your skin.

Another acne scar cure that you definitely want to consider is laser treatment. Because laser light has the ability to burn away the damaged sebaceous glands that cause the disease, it has become ideal for effective acne scar removal. Added to that, the acne scar laser treatment also induces the formation of oxygen, which kills off acne-forming bacteria, and it burns the damaged follicle sacs from which your hairs grow and that are often left behind after treatment.

The two methods of treating acne scars discussed above are very effective. However, a word with your dermatologist can save you from complications that may arise as side effects of any of the treatment options.

Acne and Acne Scars IPL Treatment

In case you're wondering about the difference between IPL and laser treatments, here's an easy analogy: If you have a date and want to look good when you leave the clinic, choose an IPL treatment, buts its effects may not last as long as a laser treatment as it is more superficial. If you have pressing issues like scars and can afford downtime, a laser treatment is more suitable.

Ash, suffers from active acne, depressed scars and acne marks. She has tried facials, which left her with even more scars and is using medical skincare to control her acne. When I met her, she was also suffering from a breakout and had red, angry- looking pimples on her cheeks.

Dr Shiau took a look at her skin and recommended the Aqua Peel treatment for her. The Aqua Peel treatment is a unique combination of diamond microdermabrasion, lactic acid peel and vitamin infusion. Microdermbrasion will exfoliate her skin as well as help loosen blackheads and whiteheads, lactic acid to lighten her skin and vitamin infusion to hydrate her skin. Dr Shiau will also do two different IPL treatments - the blue light IPL for acne followed by another photorejuvenation IPL for acne scars.

After cleansing Ash's face, Eve, the therapist, started the diamond microdermabrasion using a device with a suction effect. This device is slowly rubbed all over Ash's neck and face. According to Ash, the procedure feels comfortable despite the sucking effect. Eve changed the device to a smaller head to focus on smaller areas like the nose. This was followed by the lactic acid which was sprayed on Ash's face and massaged into the skin, creating a tingling sensation. Another serum was sprayed and massaged on the face, this time it was a multi-vitamin infusion - containing Vitamin C, A and antioxidants. After pampering the skin, Eve performed a quick extraction to remove some clogged pores but she left the big pimples alone as they were not "ripe" yet.

Eve then applied a cold gel on Ash's face to get her ready for her IPL. According to Dr Shiau, the IPL process will feel like you are "getting slapped with a wet towel". However, when I checked with Ash later, she says that it actually feels more like ant bites. First up, the blue light IPL which is 410 wavelength, followed by the photorejuvenation IPL at 560 wavelength. "The shorter the wavelength, the stronger the IPL and the more painful," explains Dr Shiau. The IPL process took about 10 minutes and consisted mostly of very bright lights and a loud, snapping sound. To finish off Ash's skin treatment, a soothing tea tree mask is applied, followed by Vitamin C serum to repair skin.

"IPL stimulates collagen within and is more suitable for fairer skin. Young women love doing IPL as it has an immediate brightening and glowing effect," says Dr Shiau. True enough, Ash's face did look fairer and felt smoother after the entire treatment. To enjoy better results, five to six treatments are recommended.

As if suffering acne for years isn't enough, many people also have to suffer from acne scars after their acne has gone.

Fortunately, there are many effective acne scar removal treatments available to you if you suffer from acne scarring.

Many of the most effective acne scar removal treatments come from your dermatologist. So it's important to see medical professionals before you try over the counter products, because a dermatologist has many more options for treating your acne scars.

Before you can have acne scar removal treatment, your skin needs to be clear of acne. Once your skin is clear of acne, your dermatologist will be able to accurately determine the type of acne scars you have.

There's three main types of acne scar. The first type is known as the "ice pick". These scars get their name from how it looks like the skin has been punctured by an ice pick. They are narrow, at around 2mm max. They are too deep, however, for most resurfacing treatments (which I'll talk about soon).

The next type of acne scar is the "boxcar". These are round (or sometimes oval) indentations on the skin. Sometimes they can be shallow, in which case a simple chemical peel or laser treatment will work well. But in other cases, they can be too deep for this treatment.

The final type of acne scar is the "rolling" scar. This is when the scarred skin becomes connected to the tissue below the surface of the skin, and gives it a "rolling" appearance. This can be quite tricky to remove, but it is certainly achievable.

Now let's talk about some of the treatments that are available for these acne scars. The first type is dermabrasion. This is a treatment for removing surface scars. It can be very expensive, and sometimes you'll need more than one treatment, but it can be very effective.

Another even more expensive option is laser resurfacing. This can give incredible results, but it is usually twice the cost of the previous treatment.

A less expensive option for surface scars, is chemical peels. These peels literally take off the top layers of you skin, and expose the unscarred skin layers below. It can sometimes be a bit painful after the treatment, but it does get results.

A popular method for removing deeper scars is the "punch" method. This usually works quite well with ice pick scars. It can be quite expensive, but it's certainly affordable if you only have a few scars treated. Punch treatment usually costs "per punch".

If you're seriously considering having any of these treatments done, be sure to spend time talking about what kind of results you'll get with your doctor. Make sure you are shown before and after pictures of previous patients, too. To make sure you know what to expect.

Laser Acne Treatment - The Basics You Need to Know

One of the most modern ways to treat acne these days is with a laser. Laser acne treatment has been the solution to some people whom have tried everything there is to offer in terms of medication with no success. This form of treatment is not only different from regular acne remedies but also offer a solution for acne scar removal. In this article you will learn how a laser can treat acne, the different variations of laser treatment and some of the advantages and disadvantages you should consider before going for the treatment.

The manner in which the laser treats acne and the bacteria in the skin that cause it is quite different from the way medication does it. There are two uses for a laser in the treatment of acne:

1. The treatment of existing acne by means of burning and killing the bacteria that causes acne and by shrinking the sebaceous glands in the skin that secrete an oily substance called sebum. Sebum is what makes your skin so oily and can predispose acne.

2. The resurfacing of the skin with the laser. In this process the laser is used to actually vaporise the top layer of scarred skin. When the new skin grows back the scarring would be diminished and appear much smoother.

The advantages of laser acne treatment are that no application or swallowing of medication is needed and that the procedure itself is quite quick - no more than an hour. However, some people might need more than one session to obtain the desired results. Some of the disadvantages are that the recovery time after the procedure can be up to 3 weeks along with the discomfort, redness and swelling in the face as a result of the procedure. Infection also needs to be prevented after the skin heals. The biggest disadvantage, however, is the cost. Compared to regular medicine it is much more expensive, but some argue that over the long run the cost of treatment will even out.

It is important to choose the doctor who will do the laser acne therapy carefully. Make sure he is experienced. Speak to some of his previous patients and have a look at their before-and-after photos. This will give you a good idea about his skill level. It is also important to remember that results from laser therapy differ from person to person because we all have different types of skin. This is another reason to consult with an experienced doctor - to determine whether you are a good candidate for laser acne therapy and what your chance are for a favourable result.

Treatment For Acne - Acne Treatment Guide

ACNE SURGERY: This procedure greatly speeds acne clearing and appearance by manually removing blackheads and whiteheads. A round loop extractor is used to apply uniform smooth pressure to dislodge the material. Lesions that offer resistance are loosened by inserting a pointed instrument to carefully expose the contents.

INTRALESIONAL CORTICOSTEROID THERAPY: If one or several painful acne cysts develop, fast relief is available with this relatively painless procedure. Each cyst is given a single injection of a dilute cortisone solution, using an ultrathin needle.

Laser and light therapy. Laser- and light-based therapies reach the deeper layers of skin without harming the skin's surface. Laser treatment is thought to damage the oil (sebaceous) glands, causing them to produce less oil. Light therapy targets the bacterium that causes acne inflammation. These therapies can also improve skin texture and lessen the appearance of scars, so they may be good treatment choices for people with both active acne and acne scars.

Dermatologists will use very aggressive treatments to try to prevent the progression of severe acne. They will try to stop it in its tracks while at the same time, work to prevent permanent scarring. Oral antibiotics and medications such as accutane, may be used at this stage as well as drainage techniques and surgical incision, also known as Acne Surgery. Other acne treatments such as injections of corticosteroids can be used. This is primarily used to melt cysts over a period of a few days. The acne therapy chosen by your determatologist will be matched to the severity of the condition effecting your skin.

Acne laser treatment for scars

Acne laser treatment has also been tried recently in a related form of skin disease called Acne Inversa, caused by sweat gland inflammation. This chronic condition is characterised by inflamed abscesses in the groin and armpits, and rarely on the scalp. The usual acne treatment of oral antibiotics often helps to control the condition, but the scarring left by the abscesses can be severe enough to limit movement, and is not always helped by cortisone injections. Acne laser treatment may offer a less invasive treatment than full surgery, and together with other acne medications such as Isotretinion, acne scars may be a thing of the past for these patients.

Acne Treatment Guide

Chemical Peels and Dermabrasion

This involves the application of an exfoliate, such as glycolic acid, to the areas affected by acne. Sometimes, microdermabrasion is used as an alternative. The result is the peeling off of the top skin layers that opens comedones, and since the pores are no longer clogged, acne is eliminated.

Why Using Vitamin E As a Scar Removal Method May Not Be a Good Idea!

Ever since I started my research on Natural Scar Removal products and methods, I almost immediately noticed how many people seem to advocate the use of Vitamin E as a topical ointment that does indeed deliver some results. On the surface, it actually looks like a good idea with a sensible underlying logic... not to mention that Vitamin E capsules can be purchased quite cheaply just about anywhere, from a grocery store to a pharmacy. Well, if you're planning to try this method, DON'T! At least not like that.

I've come across plenty of testimonials from people who claim to have faded their scars using this method, but I've also come across many testimonials stating just the opposite: some people seem not only to have had no results by smearing Vitamin E on their scars, but also quite some negative results... such as redness, simple allergies and even contact dermatitis. In other words, the topical usage of Vitamin E will probably make your scars look worse than they already do. You may get the opposite effect if you're lucky, but then again... are you willing to gamble using your skin?

I wouldn't be. Actually, I've looked some hard medical data and I came across two studies; one is called "Understanding the actual effects of Vitamin E as topical scar treatment", and it was published in the Dermatologic Surgery Magazine (University of Miami) in 1999; the other is called "The Effects of Topical Vitamin E on the Cosmetic Appearance of Scars" and it was published in 2005 by the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery; these are just two out of dozens of scholarly articles you can easily find online, all of which point to the same conclusion: Using Vitamin E as a topical treatment for scars is a terrible idea, and you shouldn't do it.

However, it doesn't mean that Vitamin E doesn't play its role in scar treatment... if you know how to use it just right, that is! There are other ways to take a Vitamin other than smearing it on your skin, in case you haven't thought about it!? This little well-known secret is just one of the many things I've learned during my in-depth research on natural scar removal procedures. If you want to know more about my discoveries check out my blog, but I'll round up all the information for you here. An effective homemade scar removal plan must comprise 4 different angles:

1) Know the type of scars you're dealing with: Acne Scars, Surgical Scars, Facial Scars, Cuts, Scrapes, Burns or Stretch Marks; each type of scar calls for a different treatment and procedures.

2 ) Choose the right natural scar removal produt. I know at least 15 inexpensive and highly effective scar fading products you can get in your grocery store: aloe vera, honey, tomato, cucumber, lemon are just some examples. Each product works best in specific types of scars.

3) Use the right complimentary techniques for the products you're using. I know about half dozen complimentary techniques, such as specific massages, silicone sheets, and homemade microdermabrasion.

4) Make some crucial changes in your diet during the scar healing process: some good examples include drinking lots of water and increasing your vitamin E intake (as opposed to just rubbing Vitamin E on your scar tissue).

If you're looking for a miracle product that will fade your scars overnight... you're just looking to get scammed!
