Inexpensive Acne Scar Removal Treatments

So, you have finally gotten your acne under control, but you are left with some scarring where it once was. Acne scars can be just as painful as having a face full of zits and many feel the only way to get rid of the scars is to either wait it out or pay for costly treatments. You will be glad to know that there are a number of natural ways to achieve acne scar removal.

When a scar appears on our skin that skin has lost some of the elasticity. One of the things you need to do to make it more elastic again is to increase the collagen. This can be accomplished with the foods we eat and drinking plenty of water. Be sure to eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to increase the collagen and get your body working from the inside to replace the damaged tissue. You can also use tomatoes and cucumbers on your skin to help speed up the process. Just slice some and place them on the affected area for 10 minutes and then wash off the residue. The acid in the tomatoes helps to break down the toughness and the cucumbers have a cooling and tightening effect on the pores.

The second part to a natural acne scar removal treatment is to get rid of the old damaged skin cells. Of course time will heal the scars; our bodies naturally replace our skin cells. Depending of the severity of the scarring, this could take a few years for the scars to be gone. If you have the money, you could go to a dermatologist and have the scars removed. There are a number of ways to have this done, and one can be done at home, completely naturally.

Microdermabrasion is a method in which a substance is put onto the face, and rubbed, to take of a thin layer of skin. It is sort of like sanding wood, only with much gentler substances. You can achieve similar results at home using baking soda and water. Make a thick paste of the baking soda, using water, and rub onto the area for about 30 seconds. Don't rub hard, but use a gentle circular motion. Once the time is up rinse the area with cool water and continue to the next spot.

Do this every other day for a couple of weeks and you should see a definite improvement in your skin. It will feel softer and the scarring will be lessened. An easy, inexpensive acne scar removal treatment.
