Acne Scar Cure - 4 Ways to Get Rid of Acne Scars

Acne is a common skin problem amongst millions of adolescents around the world. Despite this large figure, it is quite interesting to know that just a small portion of this population is left with acne scars. Nevertheless, there are many methods of acne scar cure that have been developed over the years. This is because finding the effective method to remove acne scars actually entails the severity of the scars themselves. Thus, there are many methods developed to deal with these different conditions accordingly.

One such method is dermabrasion. This method entails the removal of the skin's top layers. A machine is used to abrade these top layers, giving your skin a smoother texture and appearance. This method can indeed be effective, to some extent. However, there have been reported cases wherein dermabrasion is ineffective on certain conditions of acne scars. Thus, before you try this method out, you best consult your dermatologist first.

Another way of acne scar cure is through the use of chemical peels. Chemical peels have the same effect as dermabrasion, without the use of machinery, of course. Only chemicals are used in the removal of the skin's top layers. This is still not effective a full 100% in removing acne scars. Still, a lot of people suffering from acne scars do report significant improvement after using chemical peels.

Collagen injections are quite popular in the market as well. Collagen injections are known to be effective in removing wrinkles, lines, and scars. But when it comes to removing acne scars, you still cannot expect these injections to be 100% effective still. This is because all that the injections do is actually hide the scars. Moreover, collagen injections are quite costly on the pocket, and they have to be administered a number of times regularly. So, you have to be ready to shell out a lot of money, if you want to try removing your acne scars through these injections.

A procedure that considered drastic in acne scar cure is known as autologous fat transfer. The name alone suggests the removal of fat, which is what indeed happens here. Fat is removed from certain parts of the body and is then injected right back into the skin. This does not really remove scars. Rather, it just fills up the depressions that come with the scars themselves. Since this is a drastic process, it has to be repeated so that your body appropriately absorbs the fat.

There are other effective methods of acne scar cure available in the market right now. The key to choosing which one to go with is to consult your dermatologist first. This way, the most effective acne scar treatment can be chosen early on.

  1. Another excellent treatment for acne scars is fraxel skin resurfacing. Personally, I used this Toronto fraxel skin resurfacing procedure last year to cure my scars on the face. It worked great for me and so all my acne scars disappeared. Fraxel should also be included in that list above, in my opinion!
