How to Naturally Treat Acne Scars

Acne, the one big problem in our lives irrespective of the gender. Some of us deal with it once a month while others deal with it on a daily basis. Acne treatment can become a persistent problem leaving ugly scars behind upon healing. How or why does acne occur? It may be caused due to lack of sleep, stress, intake of junk food or food that is rich in oil and fat, heavy intake of refined sugars, low self care, hormonal imbalances, acne bacteria or it simply might be hereditary. This occurs first during teenage and in extreme cases can contribute to low self esteem and depression or lack of confidence.

Taking care of the skin solves the problem in most cases. Do not use products that devoid the skin of it's natural oils. Clean your skin as often as possible with a good herbal facewash because they do not contain any harsh ingredients. While purchasing a face cleanser, pick one that is suitable for your skin type (normal, dry, oil or a combination). Remove dead skin at least once a week by exfoliating with a scrub or lotion meant for this purpose. Apply a moisturizer over the acne products. Moisturizers are responsible for promoting healing and thus a healthy skin. Choose the right kind of moisturizer for your skin type.

Natural treatments are age-old, tried and tested. Aloe Vera, horsetail, lemon balm, tea tree oil used to make concoctions can be applied directly on the affected area. They are natural. Juniper essence and an olive base can be used to massage the infected areas along with aromatherapy followed by a bath in lavender water. The results show in a few days. Applying toothpaste for 10-15 minutes and then wash your face with an acne face wash in warm water can also do the trick. The 'ice pack method' as a remedy, takes a longer time. This only hides the pimple but does not remove it. Q-tips dipped in alcohol can be applied on the acne. Camphor lotion, honey and tomato juice in equal combinations can be combined to make a thick paste for a thirty minute, night application on the acne infected areas. This is combination is said to have anti bacterial properties. It is an effective as a cleanser and exfoliation scrub.

Use clean towels when you wipe your face. Was your face as frequently as possible. Drink lots of water (minimum 7-8 glasses a day). change pillow case frequently so that the bacteria does not spread. Sleep adequately, reduce stress and have a healthy, balanced diet. Combine the home treatment with a bit of physical activity. If all this does not work, then please visit a skin specialist.
