Ten Natural Treatments for Acne

Thousands of people suffer from acne and it can often be quite embarrassing. Some people may only experience mild acne while others will suffer much more severe acne. When a person suffers from severe acne they can often be left with some awful scarring. There are treatments to help remove acne scars but if you can treat the actual acne problem then you may prevent any scarring from occurring.

Let's look at some natural treatments for acne.

1. Drink lots of water

Drinking lots of water keeps your skin hydrated and will help to keep it healthy and clear. Water also helps to cleanse the body and remove toxins from the body which can also help to keep your skin healthy. You should drink at least six to eight glasses a day.

2. Eat a Healthy Diet

Your diet plays a big role in your health in general but also the health of your skin. A good diet high in fruit and vegetables and low in sugar and processed foods will help keep your skin healthy.

3. Use pH balance soap

Always use a good pH balance soap for washing your face to keep the pH balance of your skin at the right levels.

4. Corn Mask

The corn mask is an Indonesian recipe where you can mash or grate young corn and apply it to the face as a mask. Leave on the face for around 15 minutes and then rinse off. The mask is using natural ingredients so can be used daily.

5. Lemon Juice Mask

Mix lemon juice (or star fruit juice) with some salt and apply it to the face. Leave for a while and rinse off. Once again this mask can be used daily.

6. Tomato Mask

Tomatoes contain lycopene which is great for healthy skin. It also contains phosphorus, protein, iron, sulphur and Vitamins A, B1 and C. To create the tomato mask blend some tomatoes together with some lemon juice. Apply a tomato mask to your face, leave on overnight and then rinse off with warm water. This mask dries out the acne and also helps to reduce acne scars.

7. Guava Leaf Mask

To make a Guava leaf mask smash some leaves and add to them some rose water. Apply the mask to the face and leave for about 15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

8. Honey Mask

Apply warm honey to the face and leave for about 10 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. Honey has been used for hundreds of years to keep skin clear and healthy.

9. Cinnamon Mask

Mix cinnamon with water and apply it to the face then wash off with warm water. This can be used to treat acne and to treat acne scars. Use this mask once a week.

10. Cucumber and Egg Mask

Use egg white and whisk until stiff and then add cucumber. Blend together and then apply to the face. Leave it on for about 15 minutes and then wash off with warm water. You can use this mask twice a week to get rid of acne.

These treatments are all very effective for treating acne. If you try these natural treatments and don't find them effective then you may need to see your doctor for some medication.
