Vitamins For the Prevention of Acne

Vitamin B

The B vitamins have several components which are Niacin (B3), Thiamine (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Pantotheneic Acid (B5) and Pyridoxine (B6). These are all big contributors to promoting and maintaining healthy skin. The recommended daily dose for fighting acne is 100 mg 3 times daily of B1, B2 and B5, B6 and 200 mg 3 times daily of B3.

Vitamin C

Taking Vitamin C with bioflavanoids has an anti-inflammatory effect. It also aids in the healing of your skin and is beneficial in boosting your immune system. Vitamin C also removes toxins and other pollutants from your body

The recommended daily dose for fighting acne is 3000-5000 mg.

Chromium

Skin infections can be reduced with the aid of Chromium, however Chromium isn't easily absorbed through foods and it has been noted that high levels of sugar in your diet can deplete your chromium levels, so taking a supplement of chromium picolinate or chromium polynicotinate can help. Zinc

Zinc helps prevent scarring and helps promote fast healing of your pimples. Zinc is found in several foods such as meat and poultry, sea foods, whole grains, oats, beans, nuts, dairy products and pumpkin seeds but Zinc is one of those minerals that isn't absorbed well through foods so taking a zinc supplement in the form of zinc gluconate and zinc oxide or zinc picolinate can help your acne. 60-80mg daily is recommended, however it is not recommended to take more than 80 mg a day.
