Natural Acne Cures - What Are They?

Do Natural Acne Cures Work?

There are hundreds of web sites that claim to offer natural acne cures, but do they work? The problem with finding that "One" cure for acne is there are many different reasons people get acne in the first place. Hormones, stress, or nutritional deficiencies.

What Is Acne?

It's a skin disease where pores are clogged which results in lesions. These lesions often appear on the face, neck, shoulders, chest, back, and upper arms. Acne and their scars can affect a person's confidence and self esteem.

Causes and Symptoms Of Acne?

Acne symptoms include pimples, abscesses, and cysts. Pores in the skin get blocked, which traps oil, dead skin and bacteria in the hair follicles.

In healthy skin the sebaceous glands that are attached to the hair follicles secrete sebum oil which travels up the follicle and spread out onto the skin, keeping it moist and healthy.

But in the case of acne, the hair follicle is blocked -- so the oil can't get out. This forms a whitehead which then becomes a blackhead due to the oxidized oil.

In addition, the bacteria on the skin -- called Propionibacterium acnes -- starts to break-down the trapped oil causing even more inflammation. At this point, pus can begins to form -- and in more severe situations -- an abscess forms within the skin - which can sometimes leave a permanent scar.

3 Steps For Natural Acne Cures

Since we know that acne is due to excessive sebum production that causes clogged pores and inflammation ........there are 3 simple steps you can take to address the very basic causes of acne symptoms and hopefully stop the breakouts and inflammation.

Keep Pores Clean

o Exfoliate - Skin cell turnover slows down as we age and this makes acne worse. A simple natural scrub made from sugar and baking soda will help removing old dead cells, keep pores clean. You won't believe how great your skin will look and feel after this scrub and it only costs pennies - not like those expensive, chemical laden store bought exfoliates.

o Salicylic acid is great for acne problems. It helps dissolve dead skin cells, and unclog pores. Just don't use this the same day you do use the sugar/baking soda scrub.

Wash

o The best facial cleanser for acne prone skin must have the proper pH balance -- it's important not to disrupt the pH balance of your skin. Even though the condition of acne is an excess production of sebum, you don't want to over dry the skin. You want a pH balance of 4.2 to 5.6.

Moisturize

o For skin over 40, you need a moisturizer to soften fine lines and wrinkle, but you don't want to clog the pores. The best and most natural moisturizer you can use is Emu Oil. This oil not only protects your skin from moisture loss, it is healing oil and helps reduce irritation and inflammation.

o Remember, the moisturizer you're using now could be full of chemicals, dyes and salts - all further aggravating acne prone skin. Emu oil is pure emu oil....no other ingredient.

Zinc For Acne

Also consider using the mineral zinc for acne. Studies show that quite often -- acne suffers are also zinc deficient. Zinc is easy to obtain and is cost effective.

My Story..........

As a health advisor with over 20 years experience, I was always on the look-out for new and emerging research in areas of health and nutrition, but now I've turned my attention towards researching anti-aging therapies -- to keep me looking as good on the outside as I felt on the inside. My initial research was on wrinkle free skin, because it's one of the first signs of aging -- Did you know that wrinkles can start forming as early as our mid-twenties!!

But then I came across lots of other great information on how to tighten and lift the skin, reduce pore size, improve skin tone, and regain the youthful contours of my face -- and many of these treatments can be done in your own home. I've investigated and tried a combination of skin care products, tips, techniques, and yes, even a little cosmetic plastic surgery to help me look as young on the outside as I feel on the inside and would like to share them with you on my web site.
