Some Tips to Help You Understand How You Can Remove Acne Scars

Despite your best efforts and even after you have got rid of acne, some scars might still remain and this is when it does become necessary to find out how to remove acne scars. In fact, there is just not one kind of acne scar that needs to be removed because these scars can take different forms including becoming bumpy and fleshy as well as flat and also depressed.

In a few cases, the scars might turn out to be shallow discolored circled patches on the skin and in other cases they can become deeper and will indent the skin in the shape of ice picks. To remove acne scars, it is therefore necessary to address each different type of scar on an individual basis.

Some opt to go in for microdermabrasion treatments that require use of machines (sandblaster like) which will then remove a minute amount of the skin layer at the site of the scar. This removes the scar and also encourages fresh growth of unscarred skin.

Another option is to go in for fractional laser treatment, in which the skin is resurfaced and which also involves removal of damaged skin tissues in very minute amounts. This is a good treatment method for instances where all the scars are concentrated in a single area, though even then, for complete success, you may need to undergo several treatment sessions.

It is also possible to get rid of the acne scars by excising the keloid scars. This method involves undergoing a minor surgery in which the elevated portions of the scars will have to be cut off and then the wound is stitched up.

Collagen injections are also a good way to be rid of acne scars. Such an option works well when the scars are deep and depressed. Filling the scars with collagen (injected into the skin) will help to make new skin grow at the site of the scar.
