Use Lemon Juice For a Homemade Acne Treatment

There are so many different types of skin disorders, acne only being one of them. Wrinkles, acne scars, Rosacea and hyper pigmentation are just a few more to mention. Many of us will experience one or more of these at some point in our lives. How can we combat these issues naturally? Have you heard of using lemon juice for a homemade acne treatment?

It is vitally important to get proper minerals and vitamins that promote healthy body and skin. Getting enough proteins in your diet is also important as it will help repair tissues that have been damaged and help to restore them. There are several other factors that can contribute to skin disorders such as, pollution of the environment, damaging rays from the sun, certain cosmetics, and harsh soaps or detergents.

Most commonly it is acne, wrinkles and uneven skin tone that plague most of us. These types of skin disorders can be caused by lack of vitamins and minerals in our diet. In order for your body to operate at its best, you must feed it proper amounts of vitamins. Vitamins are essential just for you to exist. Take lemons for instance; they are a great source of minerals, vitamins, and anti oxidants that will give you healthy skin. Combining good proteins along with proper vitamins and minerals will assure you healthier skin.

Lemon juice is a great homemade acne treatment because it contains minerals such as potassium, calcium and magnesium. Not to mention the vitamins, B, E and C. When the hair follicle becomes inflamed, the result can be acne, production of collagen and irregular tissue growth can cause scars, not enough vitamin B complex and lack of hydration causes wrinkles, and not enough vitamin C may be the cause of hyper pigmentation.

Using lemon juice topically and orally can be very effective for a homemade acne treatment and overall healthier skin. Your skin will be clean, supple and softer.

You can use the lemon juice in two ways to get the maximum benefits. Slice a piece of lemon and apply directly to the face covering the affected areas. Or you can put the lemon juice on a cotton ball and apply to the face that way. I would personally suggest using a cotton ball or some other applicant to prevent the acne and bacteria from spreading.

Make sure you use different cotton balls for the affected and non affected areas. Leave on your face for several hours, then rinse with tepid water and pat dry (do not rub your face with the towel). This will leave you skin feeling clean and fresh. Lemon juice will help to remove the excess sebum, remove dead cells, dirt and kill germs. If you feel like your skin is burning, just add a little water to the juice so it is not so potent.
